Control Studio brings complex reconciliation configuration closer to the business, accelerating time to production without compromising control

Boston/New York / London, Oct 1th 2026 -

Gresham, a global leader in enterprise data automation for the financial services industry, today announces the availability of Control Studio, a new AI-enabled, self-service application for its Control reconciliation product. The solution enables business users to build and maintain complex reconciliation controls, including multi-way reconciliations across multiple data sources, without needing coding or specialist configuration skills. [1] [2]

Control Studio is designed to increase the proportion of business users able to build controls themselves without operational bottlenecks. Studio moves configuration from the relatively small number of users with specialist technical skills to anyone who understands the underlying data.

Using generative AI, Control Studio helps users translate their knowledge of trading, settlement and clearing into the configuration required by Gresham’s deterministic rules engines, which are built to handle the speed and complexity of near-real-time banking systems and multi-way real-time reconciliation. Through a guided, modern AI-enabled interface, users can configure data sources, matching rules, validations and exception workflows in the language of the business. Studio enables users to build controls directly against sample data, allowing them to see the impact of changes before they go live. The solution can identify correlations between datasets and suggest potential matching keys and validation checks, while natural-language AI assistants support the creation of search expressions and enrichment rules.

Studio enables those who understand the business problem to solve it directly, addressing financial institutions' growing need to implement and adapt operational controls in response to increasing business complexity and regulatory requirements that mandate more reconciliations. The Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) has introduced harmonized requirements around ICT risk management and digital operational resilience for financial entities in the EU, adding to the focus on robust governance, controls across critical operations, and avoidance of ad-hoc end-user computing solutions

Neil Vernon, Global Head of Product – Control and Data Service at Gresham, commented: “Reconciliation has become harder to change at the pace the business now demands, not because firms lack the expertise, but because technical configuration takes too long. Control Studio puts the people who understand the data in control of the process, using generative AI to turn business requirements into the rules and configuration needed by Control. That means firms can respond faster as products, processes and regulatory requirements change, while keeping the governance, auditability and complexity they need in production.”
