Operations taking centre stage in solving investment management challenges
Key takeaways from InvestOps Europe 2022
Data, scalability, and automation. T+1 settlement. Strained operations teams. Outsourcing.
These were among the hot topics at this year’s InvestOps Europe event in London, hosted by WBR Research, where I spoke about “Optimising people, process and technology to achieve sustainable differentiation, value and growth” and mingled with more than 250 buy-side operations leaders.
The key challenges on the minds of investment operations heads converged on the mainstay themes of how to reduce costs, do more with less, and deal with historically high volumes and employee turnover with new goals such as innovating and modernising processes, driving more value and efficiency throughout the business, and solving for significant industry and regulatory initiatives.
Now facing uniquely challenging times, investment management firms are beginning to make substantial progress in digital transformation and data-centric processes.
